hey pipsmum, hope you are feeling better today??!! just a thought, can you not ring your current cards (possibly the one with the least on) and try and negotiate a lower interest rate for the balance if you transfer another balance??? most will do this but dont say so openly................ hope that makes sense as just read it back and not sure................??????? that will save you loads and with one less card to pay can throw more at the others. saves applying for a new one.............................December 2018: £20,850.24. Now: £18,333.02 Total paid in 2019: £2517.22

hi Pips mum, sorry to see there's not little one yet.
I had a run in with MBNA last year just before i closed my card, they messed up my account, i went over the limit and they never inisted that i pay it back as part of my minimum but just kept charging me £12 each time. I ended up having a great conversation with one of their mininons, who finally realised i wasn't going to shout or swear so decided the only way to get me off the line was to start accusing me of saying he was lying. Managed to pull him up sharp though, only time it payed off to do my job, so i could really tell him i knew he was lying and talking out of his behind.
Sorry to bore you, hope you get them sorted out they really are the pits.0 -

Hello all
Feeling a bit happier as I just rang Tesco and transferred as much of the balance from MBNA as I could to them. 7.9% APR for life of balance with no fee. Still means I have some on the MBNA card but at least they wont charge me as much and their charges wont push me over their limit so they charge me the £12.
Lemontree and Rags, I had no problem with them until the end months of last year and then they became the most unhelpful people on earth and slapped on very unreasonable interest and charges. Think the credit crunch hit them.
Today should be another NSD as I dont intend going out, OH is draining the radiator system to try and get the heating working upstairs so my main mission for today is stay out of his way!!
Off to update my signature.

could you not transfer some to your a+l credit card and see if they will give you a good % for life of balance as well?????
7.9% is pretty good going for the life of balance!!!!! the transfer will be like a payment to your mbna card so will have more money to throw at them this month!!!!!! always a bonus!!!
good luck with your heating!!!!!!

I wondered that actually, if it would count as a payment towards the MBNA be good if it does as I rejigged the budget and I can just about manage to make the £193 minimum payment.
Will look into transferring some to A+L too, trouble is guess who manages the A+L card? MBNA!!!Debt at LBM [strike]£17,544[/strike] £5700:TOver £14,000 PAID OFF :T

Thanks xsarahahax
Well heating is not going well. OH dad (who is a builder) came to help to fix it and basically can`t!! We need some new valves and the radiators all need to be taken off, drained, flushed through and reconnected then pressure up again. So no heating tonight or tomorrow probably. Its Ok for me and OH but bit worried incase its not working by the time we have Pip and bring them home, far too cold up there for a new baby we would have to sleep on the sofa!!
Rang MBNA on the off chance they would be helpful but no such luck as they are now charging me 34% APR due to going over my limit........it was there charge that put me over limit!!!
