Take it as a blessing in disguise. I am in the process of leaving them - since they linked up with Carphone Warehouse they are totally rubbish.
I am switching to "be there unlimited" my router and everything is here and waiting in advance of the 31.12.08 when they are ready for me to go live and that is during the busiest postal/delivery week of the year. It took 3 days to arrive and two of those days were a weekend!
Cancel them and join someone else this forum had loads of recommendations. Be there and 02 seem to get a lot of praise - in fact they are part of the same group.

Hey, ive had no problems with AOL, ive been a member since 2001 and have just managed to get my price down even further with them without losing out on any services im already using!
My router came quite fast when i upgraded to broadband, but that was years ago... They should've sent it recorded, or with some sort of tracking facility. Have you asked them for a tracking number, or proof of delivery?March 2016 - Barclay Card: £7,213.820 -

It is possible you are still on the old network, pray they do not migrate you!
There are thousands of complaints on different forums about AOL - they do have problems and people are leaving in droves.0 -
So I've heard!
Maybe the fact that I live out in the sticks, and can only get a bismal 2.5mb line capacity is a good thing... I don't know fast, so their slow suits me fine haha!March 2016 - Barclay Card: £7,213.820 -

Have to say I moved from AOL (perfectly good performance) earlier this year to Tiscali. They couldn't get the darn thing to work. So I moved to O2 - which was much, much slower and poor reliability.
I'm back with AOL now and fairly happy. Just don't use their rubbish software.0 -

I had an issue with o2 when I initially joined and they sent me a new router - been all well and good since then
And their call centres (Glasgow and Leeds) are 24/7 with a freephone number - which is great if you need them to talk you through things0
