Thanks I am going to give it a go. Tried to burn a disc and it wouldn't let me. The files are on the disc but you cannot hear anything .. Fingers crossed for audacity
  • Right I give up . I have been trying on and off all day to get this book onto my Mp3. I have tried to burn to a disc, change format to mp3 or wav, record as its playing and nothing...
The whole point was to get through a couple of books while on the move and if I have to sit at a computer I might as well read a paper copy ( much less stressful )

Anyway a very big thanks to everyone who has tried to help and also let it be a warning to people getting stuff from audible.co.uk

They do have a list of compatible devices on their website, which is rather more useful than a warning.
  • Well its only useful if you read it and being a typical woman I thought like most things I would find a way round it.. Anyway you can't :(

But the good news I have found my book from another source and its now winging its way on to my MP3 player so all is well ... :j

Does anyone know how to actually get a free book from audible? I signed up with an xfm free trial so I should be able to get two free audio books, yet when I try to check out it looks like it's going to charge me...
  • I've just signed up to the two free books offer direct from the audible.co.uk website. click on the join now button. Then the Premium Audible Select Button. Enter your personal details to set up an account on that same page. Follow the rest of the instructions. It then let me go through and order two free books. Its a bit of a faff to down load them via their download manager which you have to install then import them to Itunes. Then as I haven't got an apple MP3 player I then have to import the files into my Sony Software but it works fine in the end.
Also after all this faff don't forget to cancel your membership.
