I have Downloaded a book from Audible.co.uk with a free trial and for the life of me I cannot get in on my MP3 player .
Then decided to read more on website ( which I should have done first ) and apparantly the downloads will only go on certain devices and MP3 players are not one of them
Can anyone advise if possible to download it to my MP3 as I would only listen to it when travelling to work etc so no good on my pc.

and MP3 players are not one of them
See LINK
I assume you mean YOUR mp3 player ?
"Due to the security encoding on Audible files not all mp3 players or portable devices are compatible with our service."
Maybe yours doesn't support the DRM system they use ?
Which of their 'formats' did you download - its seems only [4] is MP3
as per this FAQ
"- Formats 3 & 4 sound about the same, so whay are my Format 4 files twice the size?
Format
uses speech compression (see above), which has been designed for spoken audio programs. It provides much more effective compression than Format
, which uses MP3 music compression.

Does the track play OK on your computer using Windows Media Player or Winamp or VLC or similar players?Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake.0

Yes it pays fine in windows, media monkey and the audible software I downloaded ..0

is it not possable to burn it to a cd then resave it as an mp30

Perhaps try using Media Monkey or some other converter program to change it to 'proper' mp3 at 32Kbps or 64Kbps compression.Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake.0

Will try both ways . Can you suggest a free converter0

I use WinFF, but maybe someone else will suggest one that's easier to use. There are many.trinnylilac wrote: »Can you suggest a free converter
WinFF is free to download from here:-http://code.google.com/p/winff/Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake.0 -
You could try to import it into audacity (free sound editing program http://audacity.sourceforge.net/download/ ) using File\import audio and re-export it as a mp3. Worse case scenario; if it will play on the PC, set recording preferences to "What U Hear" and open audacity start the recording function and play the file which should appear as a wave form in audacity. then once it is captured in audacity export as a readable mp3 or a .wav for later conversion. Time consuming but it may work if all else fails.0
