You can't make a pie, you'll need 4 and twenty blackbirds for a pie....just 4 will never be enough!

It's the recipe involving 5 golden rings I'm worried about :D
You could wrap them in greaseproof paper and put them in your pudding instead of coins???

    There is some more actually.

Just been dragged at of my bed at stupid o'clock (so called because of the stupid grin on the OH's face as he snores and grunts away peacefully, blissfully unaware of the ringing of the doorbell by an unseasonably cheery Home Delivery Network courier, and dribbling seductively from the corner of his mouth. I am blessed with the most OS of OHs).

Anyway had to sign for a large package, apparently they didn't fill the entire delivery yesterday. And the stupid idiots have only sent me another little bird and a pear tree, obviously someone got a wire crossed somewhere and they've duplicated the order, so I'll have to spend most of the morning sorting that out.

Also in the package were two small white pigeons, cooing away happily to each other. I'm sure that at the right time and place this would seem like a lovely romantic noise, but 7am on a damp saturday morning is not that time and place. Please, old flames everywhere, CHOCOLATE. It's really not a difficult concept.

All the same, having a few good ideas for dinner. Pigeons aren't worth eating for anything other than the breast, and there's not much of that, but the idea for today is to make a little parcel with the breasts and a blob of cream cheese and jalopeno peppers wrapped in some smoked streaky bacon, then grilling them and serving on a bed of leaves with some pear relish (pears, vinegar, a hint of chilli) and puy lentils.

The carcasses can go in the stock for soup tomorrow with the rest of yesterday's bird, looking forward to that.

    Any other ideas?

Errrrmmm, moving house TODAY might be a good plan, but forget having that mail forwarding thing done! Take it from me, it's a good plan.

If you plan to stay put then it might just be worth getting Mr T to make an extra delivery! Forget the organic stuff, talking mass catering here. Don't really want to spoil the surprise, but thought in good OS tradition it's great to be prepared.
