Mobile Rainbow - shockingly good deals, but has anyone bought from them yet?!

hi there guys...looks like great deals on the '3' network have returned.

mobile rainbow are offering the LG u8330 with 12mths free line rental or the SE K608i with 11mths free line rental

i'm thinking of getting the latter, and soon, cos its been too long since i've had a steady allowance of minutes/texts at my disposal!!!!

but, i'm a little wary of mobilerainbow...has anyone on these forums used them b4? are they trust-worthy and faithful cashback payers?! CPW and its affiliates never seem to get back to me when I ask for a price-match though...

Hi there, I asked a chap from one of the referal sites about them and this was his reply:-

" Mobile Rainbow have been trading for over a year and are an up and coming mobile phone dealer. They've had a good internet prescenece for a few months now and I've had no complaints about them. Their cash back is paid after your 4th bill / 120 days, whereas most online dealers pay in 3 stages at months 4, 8 and 12 - with the exception of Phones 4U who pay after six months."

I have not checked any of these, as I could not find details of their cashback on their site. They do have a "contact us". Give them a try and see if they repy. Most of the so called "good" ones do not reply. I will PM you with the link to the site that gave me the reply. In another reply he also said that if you bought through his site he would interviene if there were any problems.

In their terms and conditions (http://www.mobilerainbow.co.uk/termsall.asp), they state the following

Free Gifts And Cash Back

All free gifts and cash back are subject to a ‘clearance’ period, and are sent separately 120 days after purchasing your equipment. Gifts of cash-back and line rental refunds have specific claim periods, details of which will be enclosed with your equipment. If you would like confirmation of these please contact our customer services who will be more than willing to help. It is important that you remain on the specified tariff during this 'clearance' period, or you may lose your gift/cash-back.

The specific details are outlined with the particular offer. For example, the offer for LGU83300 on Video, Talk and Text 700 (3 Network) at 12 months free line rental on 12 months contract states:

For the first 3 months your airtime bills will be discounted for half line rental (i.e. £17.5) by Three network.

To claim the remaining cash back amount you will be required to send your 6th, 9th and 12th months' bill within 30 days of receipt of it and we will credit your account with £122.5 each time. This money will be credited into your account within 30 days of receipt of your airtime bill.

These cash backs will save you £367.5+52.5 over the 12 months duration and it will reduce your average monthly line rental to £0 over the period of 12 months.

These details are included in a pop-up under Gifts (before buy) on each product page where the cashback/gift is indicated.

They haven't been round long which is not necessarily a bad thing, but given the size of the cashback, personally I would be wary and go with one of the more established players (that said, they don't always get good reviews!).
