Orange 'Extra's' Warning!

I attempted to apply a daily talk time extra to my PAYG Orange phone. A message stated that there was a fault and I should try again later. I checked my credit later (no change) and tried again 2 or 3 more times. Later I had one text stating my extra had been applied, but my credit had been deducted several times.

I called customer services and was told that in future I should wait 24 hours before trying more than once, and that a message saying the extra have not been applied did not mean the extra would not be applied at a later date! Are Orange just trying to rip people off? As a 'one off' I was given a refund, but apparently it will be the last time.

I guess the lesson is... don't assume an Orange message means what it says, and don't assume Orange will honour it.

Bet you can't beat this then. My husband called Orange because we were off to France and he wanted to enable Roaming.

He was told that he would now be entitled a free International Calling bundle that lasted a month so we would get free calls while overseas. Great went on holiday - used the pphone call home everyday - maybe a total of 20 minutes in all and came home to a nice bill of £27 for international calling. When we enquired the 'wrong bundle' had been added to our account and that someone would call us back.... one month on we are still waiting!! And we have been billed again and no credit applied. Why am I not surprised! When the contract ends I am back to PAYG!

I cant beat that... maybe we should set-up a warning forum for people who have been wrongly billed by Orange to share their experience with others. Had probs with them on contract too and at least on PAYG you can always leave without having to pay for the privilege! Anyone got any positive stories about their experience with Orange?
