I too use the take-away boxes with the plastic lids as they are ideal for me for one size portions and stack brilliantly in the freezer I also have some small oval brown earthen ware dishes that I have collected over the years from boot sales The sort you can make an individual pie in(handy for shepards pies as I pipe mashed potato on the top and when cold bung into the freezer Instant dinner from freezer to microwave. In my cupboards I have a good collection of Lock'n'lock boxes that I have built up by every time when I went to john Lewis I would treat myself to They really are the best even if they cost a bit more I have tried tesco's equivelant but the lids eventually don't close properly whereas the lock'n'lock ones always work .I have a stash of these from really small that I can put small portions of fruit in when I am meeting my DGS from school or herbs/spices etc as they are brilliant for those.to Larger ones that I use for pulses, rice dried goods and even bigger ones for cereals and huge square ones fro bread/cakes .I like being able to stack things easily and I always can't wait to get rid of packaging and boxes as it takes up too much space .The small take-away plastic boxes I have had donated from family and friends and use in the fridge as well for grated cheese, carrot chopped peppers, peeled mushrooms and they too save space in the fridge .I find it easier to do my food prep every three or four days so when I come in at night after looking after my DGS I can whip up my dinner fairly quickly Great for small boxed salads as well when we go out for picnics.I am definitely a 'container' person and like to see my fridge and freezer and cupboards neat and tidy.As I live alone even if I open a tin of beans I will always put half in a small box and freezer it for another day as I couldn't eat a whole tin in one go

I use the £Land plastic boxes as well. No idea on the dishwasher bit as we don't have one, but I can't see it being a problem.
They are certainly okay in the microwave and freezer.

As for the label, I buy a roll of address labels from the stationary department in Wilkinsons and rip each one in half and use half of a label.

We have supplemented these boxes with takeaway boxes. Not many takeaway boxes as we rarely have them! So, a bit of both really!

I find these useful, and now have four or five sets which I use along with takeaway style tubs.

I bought some really good strong plastic containers from Dunelm Mills - large ones were £1.39. Surprisingly good quality for so low a price.

For the nest of Pyrex, I bought the 0.8L, the 1.5L and the 2.6L. At the time, they were about £15 in total and cheaper from Dunelm but you know what the prices on Amazon are like!

The round little Pyrex 0.5L is great for Baked Beans, hummus, etc although the lid isn't as tight-fitting as the rectangle ones, for some strange reason.
