downs, I've never heard that. I used to work as an admin for an estate agents - as soon as the offer was accepted we changed literature and web details. I don't know if there is any requirement to do so however, it may be best practice, but not necessarily set in stone IYKWIM

Possibly, but not sure the amount in Commission would be worth it - especially as they've probably dropped their rates to virtually nothing in order to get the business

right just an update for those interested...
got the mortgage accepted in principle this morning, so we went to taylors estate agents this afternoon and put an offer in for 140,000 (listed at 149995).
waiting to hear back today upto 6pm there open, if not will hear the news next monday when they re-open. hopefully they accept.

got a question... we asked how much there solicitors would cost if we used them and they said it will be £645.08 inc vat a fixed fee, based on no move no fee. also a fee of 146.88 for legal fees for the mortgage, also £18 for money laundering checks.

is that good? or can it be cheaper elsewhere?
  • Those solicitor costs sound about right.

It may be worth shopping around a few diferent ones though and ask if there are any reductions going, they may be desperate!!
