I can't see it already posted - the rate drop tonight to 5% (new accounts).

OO ar!
Got mine in on the 6% but missed out on the 7% unfortunately.0 -
I applied the day before it dropped from 7% to 6% but haven't heard anything, so I looked on the website to get the number to chase them up when I saw it was dropping again! Turns out they've lost my application - lucky I didn't leave it until tomorrow or I would have missed out twice :eek:0

Had a strange idea that as the rate dropped from 7% to 6% on the day I applied, putting a standing order into Cahoot to pay into the account last Friday 12th Dec would get me the 6%. The money still isn't in the account, so I guess I'm now looking at 5%. That is, if Cahoot and their 'slow boat to China' method of transfer ever gets it there. I've now had it with Cahoot. Their cavalier attitude to the 4 days of non-service earlier this year and their refusal to join the Fast payment scheme means this customer is off to find another account provider.0

So, if I opened my account on 17th but the money hasnt arrived yet, am I gonna get 5% not 6?0

I believe so, you only fix the rate once your initial deposit is made. Its why everybody is always so frantic.0

No big deal. The interest rates on Regular Savers aren't that important. The difference in interest between 5% and 6 % for £250 a month into a RS over a year would be £16.0

But it all adds up and can be a lot more than £16, I will get an extra £660 interest over the year on the 5% now available0
