Life after Tiscali?

After five reasonably trouble free years on Tiscali I have been let down bigtime. Two weeks ago I was upgraded (at my request) to Tiscali Max (£14.99 all in). Since then I have had no broadband service. I have been escalated to their second line support team who sound too busy to deal with any problems. They have blamed in this order: the router, Vista, the Dell computer and for the last week BT. They have promised calls in the evening and not rung and no one wants to take responsibility. The customer service is absolutely dire. I have lost patience with them and got my Mac code and I am looking for a replacement.

I am not an unbundled exchange so cannot take advantage of the really cheap deals but frankly I'd rather pay a bit more for a better customer support for when things go awry.

I have my landline with Utility Warehouse (a bit dear but solid service and great help line) and would probably like to buy a bundled package to cover both phone and broadband. I need wireless access for my son but have a wireless router already. Line speed is not a big prioirity because I think I can only get up to 4mb down my line.

Any recommendations for an unbundled line? Leopard's strategy (Plusnet until able I am unbundled and able to get the cheap o2 offer) sounds good as I am o2 customer. Possibly go to BT unlimited for phone.

Any thoughts welcomed but as I can only access the net at work I will not be able to respond till tomorrow. Unless by a miracle Tiscali sort out the 14-day problem tonight. They've promised me a call but I'm not holding my breath.
