Jolsa's only getting 152 Kbps. Should be getting about 3600 kbps.

I have just tested mine, I have 1meg BB with tiscali, are these results good?
Downstream 952 Kbps (119.0 KB/sec) 1028 Kbps (inc. overheads)
Upstream 247 Kbps (30.9 KB/sec) 266 Kbps (inc. overheads)Work like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0 -

TOG,
Sorry I'm confusing the issue...I was referring to his mates PC, I know Jolsa's is slow.., and I misread this line.. as Kilobits..
"whereas my mate using his Apple Powerbook *or* Sony Vaio laptop is reaching 350-400 KB/Sec on the same downloads at the same time."
If that is Kilobits not Bytes, it is still slow on his mates PC.. If it is KiloBytes that is fine.. but doesn't solve Jolsa's problem.Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0 -

Thanks for that, didn't have a clue what it meant, just that when I connect it says 2.2Mbps so was confused
Very sorry to OP for hijacking the thread.Work like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0 -

That suggests a 2Mb/s link not 1..Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0 -
If he's got a very clean, low latency, low contention connection then he could, if he's lucky, expect to see about 470 - 480 KB/s. So 350 - 400 isn't bad depending on the server he's downloading from.

TOG.
I know.. I mistakingly read the b as a B, as I have explained, and apologised for 3 times!
(It's easily done in a set of posts with mixed b/s and B/s)Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0 -

I believe with CBC IPStream packages all connections will show as 2 meg as it's not physically set on the exchange cards to 512, 1 or 2 anymore. You are however charged on the data allowance at a speed up to the max your line will synch at.
That may be the case here.and apologised for 3 times!
No need mate. I wasn't trying to belabour the point with you, just trying to avoid confusion for the OP.

Ok updated situation on downloading same file on a 4meg line (after eachother - not at the same time):
Me: 90 KB/sec
Flatmate with Apple and Sony Vaio laptops: 350-400 KB/sec
Flatmate 2 (in room next to me, further away from wireless base unit, who gets patchy reception because of that fact. PC): 150 KB/sec
I feel like screaming. I would think that it was PC Windows users who had the problem if it wasnt for the Sony Vaio laptop.
Have set my TCP receive to 65535, and my MTU value to 1500. However this doesnt seem to have affected anything. Surely there has to be a hidden button somewhere that says "Click to obtain proper download speed" ;-)0
