IF you're flying into Nice, you can get the train across to St. Raphael and then either a boat, bus or taxi to St. Tropez. Its a bit of a trek, at least 2 hours, maybe closer to 3.

If planning a trip there I recommend you go to Menton. It is the last town in France before you hit Italy, where you can take in a trip to buy cheap spirits before your return to the UK!

It's a lovely place and though busy, is less so than Monaco. It has a good beach and the view from the sea over the old town and Italy is fantastic. Any time I go there I ask myself where I have got it wrong? My OH's brother has been there for around 3 years and the food and quality of life is brilliant.

It's around 10 mins from Monaco on the train and very inexpensive to get there this way.

I have found the cheapest way to get there is early flight from Luton on Easyjet to Nice. Stay the night before in the local travelodge for a tenner and dump the car at airparks. A trip just before Chrismas set us back just over £100 for both of us!

My friend has seen a deal at a travel agents, for 3 nights B&B in Monte Carlo, in a 4* hotel facing sea, morning flights from Liverpool (good airport for us)to Nice, and a helicopter ride into Monaco. £225 per person during March.

I thought that was fairly good, but never been to South of France, Italy or Monaco, so L'm abit in the dark. Hubby would love this coz of the Grand Prix...

Do you think its reasonable?? How much would eating out etc cost??
