Problem with my one stop phone shop cashback claim? whats the next step?

I sent off my cashback claim at the end of sept 2005 to OSPS via recorded delivery.

after 3 weeks of hearing nothing i gave them a ring to see whats happening with my cashback claim. They say they havent received it, i gave them the recorded del number and they said yea we have had it but cant find it, we will give u a ring back on any updates.

Gave them a ring 2 weeks later, oh our system is a month behind, you should have it in a week or 2.

They keep giving me excuses all the time, the 2 previous times ive phoned up. The guy i spoke to on the phone said send a bill to me via email a month later and i will sort it out, i dont exacly what he said and he said i should get a it within the next 2 weeks. A month goes by and my claim has still not proccessed. Phoned him back up and he said there is a problem with the IT department now!!!!!

I give up!!!! its only a £30-40 cashback, but still they are not complying with the contract i signed!! i threatended to phone 3 and cancel my contract due to this but nothing is getting done.

My next cashback is due soon and i still havent received my last one!!!1

Any ideas what to do because this is beyond the joke!

Thanks
Dean

Go to rpoints.com. Look under mobiles. See "onestopphoneshop nonesense". This tells you what to do!

Informs you how to sue them for only £30 and they have to pay the £30 on top of what they owe you. You basically give them notice first that you are going to do it.

I will be doing it shortly if I dont get my money.

    Good luck

    UPDATE:

    STILL WAITING

Ive had enough so i phoned their CS this morning and threatened them with legal action if i dont have my cashback claim by next week. (from the advice of rpoints)

The girl then said that she will promise she will chase it up but there is nothing she can do because the cashback people work mon-friday. (ANOTHER EXCUSE)

I told her then to give me a call monday morning when she has sorted it out, if not i will issue legal action.

My 8th month cashback is coming soon. I was connected on the 17th of june, so the 8th month is 17th of feb? When is the best time to send the claim, before the 17th? on the 17th or after? I just want my cashback claim back as soon as possible.

    Cheers for the help
  • it depends when you receive your bill.
e.g. if u normally receive yor bill on the 20th, then wait until that bill before you send it off.
but if your bill comes on the 10th, then use that to send it off on the 17th.
  • Dean, you poor thing, you are not alone in this situation. You should find a lot of advice on this forum about OSPS. Quite a lot of people have taken legal action, apparently it's an easy process online and costs you only £30 but OSPS pay this to you aswell as the cashback. You have to give them 14 days to send your cash back and if they don't within that time then you start jproceedings. It's worked for everyone on here who's tried it here I think.

I too had problems with my first cashback and like you I am about to send in my second one. I just hope it's smoother this time.

Good things come to those who wait......... but the best will be taken by those who got there first ;)
