    What an unhelpful post based on presumeably no research!!!

    This is a really useful and original thread - if you don't like it - shush. Have you got a better idea?

    Thanks for posting this OP, its refreshing to see something different for a change.

    A few places here have Those bouncy ball vending machines, but by no means a lot. I usually give in to Please mummy please mummy pleeeeeease! costs me a quid a time DOH!

    the balls themselves cant cost much more than 20-30p each so nice tidy profit for someone.

    I wish our doctors surgery had a vending machine, handy when there is a long wait. Or the Garage while you wait for your MOT.

    A canned or bottled drinks one is handy in an office, there is plenty of market here and i'll bet in many other places.
  • Thanks for sharing the idea mate, glad you've made a success from it.

    How often in general do you have to refill them (for instance the minstrel machines)?
    Does the place simply ring you up when it's empty and you refill and take the money?
    Are there many maintenance issues with the machines?
  • minstrels about once every eight weeks is average but some machines once every three.

    On the bouncy balls a 20p bouncy ball costs 3p and a 50p to £1 ball costs 15p to 30p dependent on type. Site owner normally gets 25%. You tend to get to know how often each machine need emptying or put a sticker on saying please call ................ when I am nearly empty.

    Here's a bit of maths;

    You can easily do 4 sites an hour. Lets say thats 6 machines as busy sites have a double head machine. Average take £20 a machine = gross of £120 , site owners get £30 stock costs £50, profit £40 a machine. Do 5 hours work a day = £200 a day profit

  • Great few ideas here. I need to get more proactive and confident doing my own thing. Might try this at some point next year. Thanks!

  • Sorry if i have not looked at it properly, but would you make anything on say tea/coffee/ juice, say in a shop canteen for staff, where there is a kettle but nothing else
  • depends on how many staff - you need to sell 7 cups a day at 30p a cup to break even

    How much money do these machines hold? Also do you have to screw/fix down to a surface??

    Cheers
