LG KU990 (Viewty) turning itself off...please help!

Hi, hope someone can help...
I have recently got an LG KU990 aka Viewty. As it is a touch screen after about 10 seconds of inactivity it locks the keys which is very handy. But today it has started turning itself off after the keys are locked. The battery is fully charged and I can turn it on again and use it but whenever I leave it long enough to lock the keys and then go on to what would normally be the screensaver a few seconds later it just turns off.
This is very annoying as I am missing calls and messages and it is a brand new phone, I have only been using it for a week.
Has anyone experienced this or does anyone have any knowledge of phones and know why this is happening?
Any help gratefully received!

sounds like a software problme, needs to be sent off for repair already !Ex forum ambassador

I have found that when it is charging it stays on but when I unplug it (even though the battery is fully charged) it turns off.
Should I contact Tesco Mobile who I bought the phone from or LG who are the manufacturers to arrange a repair?Old enough to know better, too young to care!0 -

thats viewty phone has been plagued with problems even upto today -especially wiht the non responsive screen
you would touch the screen and would get abs nothing from it0
