Had an email from BT saying that as an existing BT Broadband customer I can save £23.52 a year - £1.96 a month - from my existing £17.60 a month if I sign up to this deal for 12 months. BT don't give money away - but I can't see the catch. Am I missing something?

The only 'catch' is that you are locked into BT for 12 months.0

allright if you can go else where for your broadband, but some of us are stuck with BT. i just renewed my contract for 7.33 per month on opt 1. bargain in my eyes when i was paying 22.99 for opt 2. Ask for a MAC code, you will get a better deal. I got offered 9.49 to stay then after phoning and being put on hold for 25 mins the guy phoned back saying i got it for 7.33.0

I have switched to O2 from BT and it is costing me nothing for 12 months and £7.50 after that, saving £300 in first yearI have an O2 mobile though £10 a month.

Thanks for advice. What is a MAC code?0

its your migration code to transfer you to another network. Seeing you want to cancel your contract with BT makes them offer you special retention deals, tho not every sales person is that helpful as i found out, so be prepared to wait out for your letter if they dont offer you a decent deal on the phone. I am in a Non LLU area so BT is the cheapest and only real option for me, but given the chance i would go with another provider if i had the chance.0
