Looking up IP address?? HELP

Right have friends (using friend loosely lol) who is working in Nigeria just now thing is when I checked IP address it says it can be used for scams though it is used for clean emails also??
Thing is friend aint ever asked me for money or anything like that so no funny business yet lol,though noticed last night it had a proxy server and not same one
Anyone just wanting to know if all Nigeria's IP's are dodgy lol

It's not too clear what the question is, but if the above summarises it then no - obviously there are many companies and individuals in Nigeria that do nothing illegal. Similarly any Nigerian-based proxy may be used for both legal and illegal purposes.

Most Nigerian scammers use IP addresses that can't be traced to them, so it's quite likely they will be in public places such as libraries and internet cafes. Hence they are likely to be used also for quite legal things.

Large blocks of the IP address pool allocated to Nigeria have been flagged. They tend to blacklist the blocks of IP addresses the ISPs have, rather than individual ones.

Thanks for reply ,meant to add all come from same IP address other than one which is seemingly proxy in Australia
Todays come from same Ip as all others do though does say shared network.
When I check the IP as I say it does say has been used for scams but also others use it also.
I am so sorry for being vague and maybe I am paronoid,thing is I have no money to give anyone anyway lol.
So how would you know if it was blacklisted?

if you are getting the mail, it's not been blacklisted.

So this is a friend that you do not know? Be very, very careful, scammers can be believable, and if they build a relationship with you.....

Yip had many pictures Data and will be very very careful no money to scam from me and not guillable, seemingly coming home soon so shall let you know the outcome.

I trust no one though they can go against you at times .

Any other ideas on how to find if a scammer or not?

so all in all can this ip be used by many ?

the IP can be public, so used by anyone.
I could send you pictures of me, but you'd have no idea if they really were me. "coming home soon" so this is a UK national?

Yes lives in Uk seemingly,though over there working.
Think I may have to ask him outright, pictures i have look like some a year or so ago and some recent then again could have pinched someone's camera :rotfl:

Oh meant to say it is a windows live address so not sure if makes any difference or not

Just confused with this proxy address in Oz though do know proxies are used for many things

Over paranoid me mmm probably,though when you search some of these Ip address's it gives you scary stuff and you cannot be to careful,though as I say who knows what weirdo out there,though as long as I do not give out any money :rotfl:then I will be fine
