Happy new year all
Well woke up hang over free as I only had two baileys in coffee last night. Have taken meter readings so I can key them into on-line accounts.
Unfortunately I need to find a shop that is open as I need milk, have enough for one more coffee.
Got council starting work on house next week, so went through all my cupboards and have packed four carrier bags for each week, just need fresh meat for a few of the meals.19th March 2007 LBM£5,969.63 1st January 2018 £5960.18, 1st January 2019 £11,032.0018th August 2023 £12,435.00, Student Loan £22244.00 From 2009-12Challenges: To learn to stop spending..0 -
I'm excited because I've found so much stuff in my scrapbooking cupboard that I can make birthday gifts for all the women in my family without incurring much additional cost.
Have to do our meter readings shortly. DH refused to do them at midnight as it would involve standing on a chair outside the front door!
I haven't read the first 32 pages of this thread so hullo people who don't know me, and people who do. Hi
I think that I am going to have to do an 11 month challenge as although I really want to do this challenge in order to pay of debts/save up for various things, so much is going to change in January that I think it would be impossible for us to do this as well.
I find out tomorrow if I have a job next week. Im currently an xmas temp but theres a meeting tomorrow to decide whether I can stay on permanently or not. If not, my last day will be sunday and after that I have a very small chance of finding another job in the near future. Also, we are trying to find somewhere else to move as our rent is waaay too high for where we live so trying to find somewhere a bit better and cheaper.
Really panicking about the job thing though, cant afford to pay anything towards debts at the moment so if I'm not working then it will be impossible and chances are we will end up back at my parents which was hell.
Spent no money today and probably won't so yay!!!
Hope this doesnt count as cheating the challenge though, does it sound like a good idea?
everything is so disorganised at the moment, want everything to settle down then I can concentrate on paying debts off!

slj, we had people join all through the year last year and it was wonderful and motivational. So an 11 month challenge would be great. And you can have a practise run this month. Don't worry. Do what you can, when you can - you'll be surprised at the difference it makes.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Another 5 full cupboards and 2 part cupboards to go -- then a fridge (that's possibly next!), two freezers, and then as much food as I can find scattered around the house (I'm another with boxes of non-perishable bargains wherever I can find room  )
So far I've discovered I have enough soup to have this with my lunch every day this month -- and still not use it all up
I now have enough soup in one form or another to last me until the end of February if I have some every dayCheryl0 -
Does anyone know if crocheting is easy? I want to make a patchwork throwover in blues, purples and creams for our bed as a surprise for DH but I'm not too good at big stuff. I could have done basic knitting of not-so-square squares but I am worried it will look too boring so I thought crochet may be better?:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Well its a nospend today for sure and DH asked me not to buy any more food this morning! I guess I get carried away. Bought halfprice chops yesterday so we will have some of those today. Try to fit the rest in the freezer plus the veggy curry I made. Sorted out my cash this morning and taken out my internet spend to Appproved Foods. Thats the sort of spend which sometimes gets overlooked-the online spends. So I know I must be more vigilant. This is the first online spend on food though apart from Asda or Tesco which I always account for. The things I forget are things like Amazon or 7day shop. I know we need to buy new bathroom taps this month so thats my first expense soon and we promised dd a bike for Xmas which is "on hold" but really should be classed as last years spend as Ive put the money by for that.
Id love to do an inventory but Im too overstocked to even attempt it at the mo! I think excessive food shopping is the truth of the matter but I was still under budget! DH saw my new boots this morning too and said "not another pair of boots"! I will not buy more shoes-1000 lines for me!!!Annual Grocery budget 2018 is £1500 pa £125 calendar month £28.84 pw for 3 adults0
