cant believe there is only 4 days left of this years challenge!
ds2 is 11 on monday, he is having a friend over to stay and they will be playing guitar hero all evening no doubt, he asked for it for his birthday so his dad and i got together to share the cost (was £65!!!) he has requested a bargain bucket from KFC and nanny is providing the cake:D (its a tradition in our family) all in all a pretty cheap birthday party! he is not into inviting lots of people round, he just wanted one friend!November NSD's - 70 -
moo2moo, i will look into free sat, thanks.

Bought myself a pressie today but it was a good one! Lloyds chemist have their electric steamers down to £6.99!
Wish I had it on Christmas day-it would have saved time as I really did need 2 steamers. Never mind-I have it now. Going to look after the receipt this time tho as the last two steamers leaked after a couple of weeks!
Hoping to be inspired to steam more foods now with this extra capacity. Got loads of whoopsies today which are now in the freezer. Kievs we had for tea-a lamb breast rolled,2 trays of chicken( 8 pieces total) and some mince and a pork hock-need to figure out what to do with that one. Could have got more but the freezer is full of HM curries! I'm still spending what I have spare for December so I'm ok for now. May return one of my bottles of Baileys-I have too much booze-still have the receipt. Bought a nice cheesebox with 2 bottles of wine for £6.24 (half price)I think this will be kept for New Years eve-may do a buffet with cheese and wine-may even invite people.  :beer:Annual Grocery budget 2018 is £1500 pa £125 calendar month £28.84 pw for 3 adults0 -
Morning all
2 bags sorted for freecycle (chuffed i managed it all when bys in bed) only toys but hopeing someone will take them if not im sure the charity shop will be open tomorrow
not much planned today just the washing mountain, will be another nsd as there is nothing i need with the boys going away tonight (think i make that a week of nsd's)
my diary and black book are ready for this challenge anything brought, the diary will record amount ive spent on the relative day and my book will record exactly what i brought so at the end of 2009 i will know exactly what went where (or thats the plan), and any small change will be going into a pot as it currantly is (though being honest its only 3/4 of a coffee jar) instead of me using it when out and about, this jar will then (hopefully) be septembers school uniform jar
sorry im rabbleing on againDFW nerd club number 039'Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts' :money: i will be debt free aug 2010

Morning all
Heck its bloomin freezing here -everywhere is white over and frozen solid.. I managed to venture out and defrost the bird bath and top up the table -have 3/4 of a sack of bird food -so that should see them through the year :T ..whilst I was out there we spotted what we now think(having looked on the internet) was a huge fluffy juvenille goshawk sat on the tree -god I'm easily pleased -ok now I know he was a rough legged hawk lol
We started our healthier eating plan yesterday -although we are going to use stuff up out of the freezer this month -so it won't be quite as it should be (but luckily we have no junk in the house anyway) -plus Im hoping to need lots of room in the freezer for all the veggies Im going to grow (fingers crossed)
My big diaries are set to go -1 for my veggie plot and 1 for every last cent that comes out of my purse
Hubby has said he is happy to eat granary bread  he prefers white -but I have 10 bags of granary bread flour in stock -so he reckons he will get used to it (plus its better for him -I LOVE it anyway) -so I think what I might do is buy some of the German white bread flour and mix it 1/2 + 1/2 so its not too much of a shock to his system :rotfl:
I have my sealed pot started and he has a grand total of 950g in him so far
Right I had better get back to my crafting...must keep up on all the pressies I want to get done
have a great day everyone-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -
Is it sad I'm sitting here longing for the 1st so I can get started? :rotfl:
Reading through the posts on this and the old thread it seems that a lot of people would like to start growing some of their own food. Back in the 70's I got a book that was aimed at growing food in towns. It's probably a bit old fashioned to go out and buy even if it's still in print but if the library still has a copy it does have some good ideas.
It's called 'The Complete Urban Farmer' by David Wickers; my copy was a book club one and doesn't have an ISBN.
Happy growing everyone.
