Can't consider Lush items here -- even walking past a store has me struggling for breath (and I'm not asthmatic  )

I've been given goodies from there a couple of times, and have had to palm them off onto someone else to get them out of the house ASAP !!!

Skint_Lynne-Forgive me for being nosey but where is your OH working at mo.. just dreaming about the holiday possibilities for you..did I dream it was somewhere in Africa. I also went to see U2 when younger, my sister was unemployed at the time and the lovely band were giving tickets out for free to people out of work so I went for free. I was a student with no money at the time…not heard of any other band doing that.

No probs SFT, he is in Kenya. I don't know that it is my thing, but he really likes it there. I would never stand in the way of an opportunity for him, and it will be nice to see him. I might like it, but it's not a place that I fancy visiting. My dream holiday would be to Hong Kong!! Have you been to Kenya, I take it that you love travelling cause of your username. xx

    Hello Skint Lynne,

Just saw your name and had to pop in to see if you've signed up for the latest Qype offer. Think it only came out today. It's a toughie as needs to be done by end Jan. £50 Virgin voucher. I signed up but am doubtful about getting it done, unless I prepare in advance a list of shops to make a point of going to.

I haven't been around here much, or even lurking, as I was so determined to help fight for refunds for people on the Lapland New Forest thread. Fotunately we now appear to have confirmed that the majority of ticketholders ought to be able to get refunds thro the Visa chargeback scheme. So it's just a question of wait and see for a bit. The success stories are slowly trickling in, so I'm hoping that'll inspire more to come. Then I'll be back properly and reading the posts (if only because no one clicks the Thanks button on that thread - there are a lot of newbies - and I'm missing it!).

We're chugging along okay at the moment in the whitewing household. Having now set my heart on telling DH that I'm pregnant on Valentine's Day. I probably won't be though. Never mind.

I'm a lot more on top of things in my business with regard to chasing up money due etc, and more organised with business finances in general. Still some painful moments though - one of my least favourite jobs.

Personal finance not going too badly. Haven't yet look for another part time job, but haven't worked out yet if I can get by on just the business (for me). Decide to do one thing then it niggles at me. Very lacking in motivation for financial planning, and haven't wanted to look at the overall picture for weeks. We're managing carefully on our day-to-day bits though.

DS is doing extremely well at school at the moment, both academically and sportingly, so we're basking in reflected glory, and we're all quite cheerful, and finding more time to chill and (think about) be(ing) creative at home.

    Love to each of you.
:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.
  • Finally we have managed to read all the posts - it seemed rude to post without reading everything - but it has taken me since the thread started to finally get to the end .... :rotfl: (picked up loads of tips in the mean time !)

Please add us to the challenge - me and dh and dd and ds - I work full time, husband is full time carer to ds aged 21 months, and we also have dd aged 15 ... I know - age gap ... but we're very good at teens and tots advice!!

Our aim is the £4k - we haven't included debts etc so it is just groceries and petrol and fun  Luckily, our major nights/days out consist of international rugby matches, so as long as it's not the world cup, we should be ok!!

I'm also determined to lose lots of weight this year (SW diet but not meetings - way too much money to justify...) I'm 40 in december and determined not to be fat and forty!! Any help, much appreciated!

So just hello to all - and all the best!!

    Hi Whitewing,

Great minds must think alike!! I got the email from them and have signed up. I thought, must make sure whitewing knows about this, and you have beaten me to it.:rotfl:

Glad that you and yours are doing well. xx

Whitewing/SL - not sure if this is relevant to your vouchers but Zavvi (virgin music shops) are in dire straits and the shops will no longer accept vouchers as payment only cash, cards etc.Anyone with vouchers has to write to the administrators and join list oof creditors for a share of payments. Before you start all that hard work would check where vouchers can be used as lot of work to do and then find you can't use the vouchers.
    Reduce,re-use, recycle.

cw18 Strange isn't it? My ds1 is asthmatic and he can't go into the shop. I have it but I don't have a problem with their stuff. I have a serious problem with cigarette smoke and usually my brain spots it before I do. I find myself holding my breath and just as I wonder why, I get the smell.
