thanks Cocker -i'll try a letter first and see how we go, i do begrudge spending the £25 to change the number but after working till 5.30 everyday (on the telephone) the last thing i can cope with is the calls i know we will get in the evenings and weekends. i might add the anonymous caller reject though as even though its an extra £2.50 a month this should still be under the amount i've budgeted for... thanks again

Just keep hanging up..or talk over top telling them to contact the dmp company.

It worked for me, they soon get fed up of not getting to say what they want and stop phoning.

I've spoken to all creditors who phoned today. Mostly it was ok, but the woman from Smile/Co-op loan was a cowbag. Really snooty & superior and got my back right up from the word go! Her accent made it a bit difficult to hear her properly and I had to ask her to repeat herself a few times - the last time I did that, she said something about it not being her fault it was probably my phone. I ended up saying at the end of the call "its been a real pleasure dealing with you" and hung up.

So I'm going to do a :j to me, for being a big brave girl and answering the phone. Last night, when the kids were here, I kept hanging up (not answering, just picking up and putting down) cos I didn't want to have to deal with the creditors around the kids. Hopefully I'm going to be left alone for a short while now......

    Hello Everyone!:hello:

It's been ages since I've posted but have been keeping an eye on you all regularly:D
All is well in Teecee world, just absolutely knackered since starting work full time in September. But life is better than it has been for a long long time!
I upped my DMP payments almost three times what I was paying and am now due to be Debt Free by the end of next year!:T Wow I can't believe I am actually saying that, at first my DFD was 7 years away:eek: it just goes to show that none of us really now what may change in a very short period of time.

Good Luck to all of our new members just starting out (hang in there, it is worth it believe me!) and a big Hello to all my old friends on this thread who have helped me get to this point in my life where I can now see the light at the end of my previously long dark tunnel:A

Thanks Teecee, the lady i spoke to at payplan said she cant see any problem..as the only thing that will happen is the creditors will recive the already agreed payments from me directly for 1 month whilst payplan get the dmp with them up and running, then the creditors payments will go up meaning they get more money so she cant see them moaning at that!!

Should have done it yrs ago..but didnt want to rock the boat..but seeing how all the wonderful people on here are starting off on the right track ie free dmps..thought it was about time to make the change!!

THANKS FOR THE KICK UP THE BUM FOLKS!!lol

I think the biggest thing this site and the fab people on this thread have given me is Knowledge!

Its so much easier to deal with things now that I am armed with so much more information than when I started.

I received two letters in the days running up to Christmas telling me I was being threatened with "further action" if I didn't pay thousands of £s straight away. Two years ago I would have sobbed uncontrollably and panicked like mad, now I just rang them straight away and demanded an explanation!
It turned out all was fine and they were both just computer generated letters churned out because of a change in the law. I am so glad I now had the strength and knowledge to face it head on.

That is a huge part of being on a DMP, it gives the control back to you!

Completly agree, i used to cry, panic and just lose it..now i laugh at letters, i phone the creditors not them phone me and im not afraid to ask for the information i want, as like you said this site gives you`a power over them` almost, they no longer are talking to someone that belives everything they tell me and now Knows what they can and cant do!!:T

I'm exactly the same! I phone them straight away instead of waiting and worrying. It's a great feeling!!
