I would ask you dmp company for advise on this one..but what i will tell you that when i first started, i left out 2 creditors as thought as you thinking that i would be able to manage to clear these myself...it didnt work 3 months in a added them to my dmp as your finacial statment is what you can afford and i found i just couldnt keep up the payments on the ones id left out , as it took my a while to living on cash only again and learning to live on what i had.

Speak with you dmp company and see what that suggest.

Thanks Donna (again!) i called CCCS and they have said that so long as they are cleared before my plan is set up then i can leave them out i just need to call them and they'll remove them....so now i'm thinking if we dont get the Lloyds acc's we have applied for then i will make token payments in feb and march with a view to the plan starting from April as it will take a few weeks for hubby to get a Co-op account, but that way i can clear Nationwide in full and retain my flex account for my wages etc.....again not ideal and probably the waiting till April is not what CCCS would recommend but at least this way i get to put a bit towards and emergency fund as well (if i didnt wait the extra month the whole lot would be gone clearing the Nationwide debt.)

Yeah no problem, it was Natwest it was for the basic of basic of accounts. Once i got to the end of the application they said 'we are pleased to tell you that your application has been accepted subject to identification documents' or something like that.

Only probs I've had with Electron card is through buying a train ticket. No dramas really, just find a cash machine!

I also believe the pay at pump petrol stations can be a problem in that they don't accept Electron.

    Morning All

I too was told by the coop - that the pay at pump petrol stations dont like the electron card either - but that most other places accepted it - thanks Ianmak for the info on the trains - I do sometimes get the train so I now know to take cash with me for my ticket just in case.

Hi Charlotte / Donna - thanks for that - 3 of my creditors are Natwest so thats a big fat no no for me but i realised that Hubby doesnt have a Natwest acc of his own or any credit with them - he has always just used a joint step account as his own...so we've just submitted an application for a Step account in just his name and it was accepted in principle need to send id blah blah so.....at least i know now that he has a Natwest Step Account to have his wages and DD's etc - essentially as he has always had will just be a different acc no and sort code and i think i'm going to leave my Nationwide CC and OD out of the DMP with a view to clearing these very quickly and ideally before the DMP starts. If the LLoyds accounts get accepted in the meantime then thats another option as well but at least i now know we can get the DMP in place and i can retain my debit card and cheque book with Nationwide.

    thanks to both of you

  • I took my proofs of id into the bank branch and they faxed them to the necessary department - the coop told me that if I did this then the process would be quicker - maybe worth asking if thats the case for other banks

hi everyone, well had my phone meeting with payplan last night, lasted an hour but it was the best hour on the phone i have had in a long time! I haven't felt so releived in ages! I am going onto a DMP £33000 of debt. Paying £500 per month starting on 1st March. The lady i spoke to was so lovely which was great. She said that providing most of the companies freeze the interest and charges we should be clear in around 5 years give or take. I will get another call in a couple of days from my new case worker and they will send me all the info etc. Just opened a basic account this morning for myself and my husband and got accepted for that already just got to wait for the form in the post and send them back, so i feel like i have made a huge amount of difference already. The next step is to send off my token payments to everyone with a letter fingers crossed for that. And even before the phone calls start i am going to change our home telephone number! Only downfall is that capital one and vanquis have some how got my work number that they come through on occasionally although i swear i didn't give it to them! I reakon they did some researching on the internet and found it! Its local goverment so it wouldn't be hard! Anyway god didn't realise i had written so much, but i am bursting with relief!
The info on here i have found really helpful so i would like to say thanks to everyone!
    Charlotte xx

Well done. We went with HSBC as we have our childs bank account with them and they proccessed the account straight away and gave us the account details after 20 minutes.

Youve made the right step and there are loads of people here who are just infront of you if you need advose, andim sure a few that will follow having seen what you've done.

DMP all set and ready to start in February with CCCS, direct debit set up for payment to go out 10th Feb - feeling relieved that its all going ahead and I'm dealing with it!

Phone calls have started this week - my creditors will have all received the notification from me that I'm going on to DMP. I'm usually out at work all day Mon-Fri, so they ain't gonna get me in the day anyway! And I've turned the answerphone off so I don't come home to lots of beeps of missed calls!

I'm reading this board every day and finding just reading stuff supportive. Just now waiting to see what the next few months bring with my creditors I guess!!

  • Hi,
I started a low start dmp with cccs in nov.
I have recieved a solicitors letter from lloyds asking me to pay the whole amount.
They have not accepted my dmp although they are taking payments each month. They are still adding charges every month and threating to take me to court.
Is this normal? I am paying the most I can and there is no way that I can pay more at the moment.
I thought things were settling down but am really worried again now.
    Any advice please.
