MSE getting bigger

OK I know Martin does the Jeremy Vine show.
But MSE got a name check on the BBC2 Drive Time business piece. Due to the fact they were quoting from one of the surveys on credit cards.
Better get that server fixed and a few more lined up, I might need to revise my prediction for the number of members of the weekly email.
And I get recognised, because of the car sticker:eek:

I was just thinking that myself Al Mac. When this ad campaign hits the Tube stations, then there is going to be a phenomenal amount of people hitting the site. Will the servers be able to take the strain?“Ordinary riches can be stolen, real riches cannot. In your soul are infinitely precious things that cannot be taken from you.” - Oscar Wilde0

so Martin will te servers be able to take the strain? :think:Savings Total so far for 2023: £8,062.580

Extra servers v MSE salary increases.
Decisions, decisions
.
Hopefully there's room for both
.
We're supportive here because of the universal benefits the site brings to us all. Few here would deny Martin his right to several £100,000s pa from MSE. His influence on UK financial services is commensurate with such a figure.
Newsreaders with the right face get paid more for zero effect on society.
But when are we going to see the site accounts?
You would at a mutual. You would at a Plc. But not at MSE? And if not, why not? Recent press reports suggest that they will find out eventually.
But it would be better if we, the members of MSE, got to know first
.
Of course, I recognise that there is no legal requirement to tell anyone, ever.0 -

why do we need to see the accounts? thats martins business not ours!!! He has run this site from the beginning with no ads, so for a number of years funded it out of his own pockets not making a profit.
Now it is making money for him let him enjoy it. He has noone to answer to other than himself (and the taxman of course!!!! )0 -
I'm not denying that it is a private business that involved some risk capital, and a lot of hard work. People are happy, enjoy the site and benefit from it
.
Martin doesn't have to reveal his earnings or the accounts. But there is bound to be continued press interest simply because MSE has become a national institution inside three years, and is beating financial journalists at their own game.
There are very few businesses that could describe themselves as national "movements". Which? might come closest.0
