AMEX cashback question.

On my statements it shows 'total eligible spend' for cashback. It seems to bare no resemblance to my actual spend in pounds. Is there anyway to work out your cashback amount from this eligible spend figure.

However surely it would far easier for them & us to just to put the cashback amount on the statement.0 -
Mr K
Thanks for that, what a strange system!0 -
It certainly is. I cant understand what possible benefit there is/could be from doubling the eligible amount?
I'm hoping also hoping it will all be sorted out at the end of my 12 months....0 -
Do American Express pay the cashback at the end of twelve months then? Not put on your statement and deducted monthly? I am curious because I have applied for one of these cards and must admit I didn't look into how the cashback is paid.
Would be grateful if someone could tell me.
Thanks.Stopped smoking 27/12/2007, but could start again at any time :eek:0 -

AFAIK its credited to your account at the end of 12 months. Think this is the same for most cashback cards (to make sure you have to keep it for at least a year !)
Barclaycard credit it on your statement each month, thus reducing your monthly bill (of course not by very much though!)Stopped smoking 27/12/2007, but could start again at any time :eek:0 -
Hi there - can anyone confirm how the tiered cashback works after the end of the 3 months 5% promotional period?
Specifically if one spends, say, £3000 in the promotional period, do you then have to spend an additional £3500 after the three months are up to get into the 1% tier, or does the £3000 count towards the £3500?
Having read the T&Cs I think it doesn't count but the wording wasn't completely transparent in my opinion.
Thanks.If I had a pound for every time I didn't play the lottery...0 -
Was about to ask exactly the same question Mr Chips, as Ive used up my £4000 already in the first 3 months :beer:0
