    Thanks Linda
Been before twice! but that was before I split with ex! Would love to go again - you really can get away from it all! I see sherwood is slightly cheaper at the moment and it's probably about the same distance from me! I know it's quite expensive when you gete there - but there is still loads to do that doesn't cost the earth!

Everyone says it's expensive but it's as expensive as you want to make it!

    My tips are:
Take your supermarket shop with you. I also pack a nice curry from Mossies instead of doing the Rajinda takeout.

Save your £2 coins - we do this every time and that always gives us about £140 spending money while we are there. You can see from my sig that we've saved £78 already for our May '09 Center Parcs trip and that's just since we got back from CP in October! - We go twice a year.

Book one good activity rather than a few to keep the cost down

Don't hire cycles- walk everywhere instead - It ain't THAT big a place and we saw so much whilst walking round from place to place that we'd have missed if we were on bikes.

Go for one or two meals out so it's special - I find the Lakeside Inn at Whinfell is great for choice (and price)
    ...Linda xx
It's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.

As long as your kids like swimming then it's great as you can spend aaages in the pool and if i remember rightly, it doesn't cost.... Linda? correct me if i'm wrong....?

Went to Lakes (Whinfell?) when erin was only wee, she'd love it now she's bigger....

Can you take your own bikes?
I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....

  • DS had his nursery Christmas party today and as a result has not slept  so OH is trying to get him into bed now - an hour earlier than normal. Fingers crossed cos I am just dying to order a curry!

Had a little chat and a big hug and he has reassured me, we will see... sometimes you can't see the wood for the trees, eh?

Love all the CP talk, we are planning to go in May/June :D:D:D but got a mini-break to the Isle of Wight first in March thanks to the Travelodge sale - a practice run, if you like...
  • Have a good time Cat!

OH is coming downstairs, boy that was quick, DS must have gone out like a light - don't you love it when that happens...

Well more in my drain saga! united utilties came - after about 4 hours - only to tell me that it wasn't the main drain and they were not allowed to clear private drains! So phoned dynorod - not the cheepest but they give a fixed price for the job and a guarentee! When they got here it was dark so couldn't do the job! Booked for tomorrow sometime before 12. I had a list of jobs to do today including food shopping - the fridge is empty! So left overs for tea (could kill for a chippy tea - but thinking abut going to centerparcs so resisted!) Kids can't get a bath - so babywipes all round! Definately having a glass or two of wine tonight lol
