### Play.com Nightmare ###

I ordered Guitar Hero World Tour for a PS2 on 17th of November, two weeks later they sent me the Wii version, so I rang up (after waiting ages on the phone), they booked Parcel Force to pick it up (which they did). At the same time I asked to be sent another, at the beginning of this week I hadn't heard a thing from them, so called the helpline and after waiting ages again i finally got through to an operator, who confirmed they had received the Wii version back and reassured me that the PS2 version would arrive later this week.

I've just received an email saying they have refunded me, I've tried calling them tonight and the first time I was cut-off after 5 minutes and the second I gave up after 20 minutes.

They're a total nightmare, I will not be using them again.

Anyone else had any problems, I tried emailing them by replying to the email they sent, but that bounced.

  • i know i have went through them they may just be refunding you in the meam time they dont take any money off you unitl they have dispatched you can go onto there site and check the status of your order.

    I have had to wait a long time too i have one item that is waiting to be delivered and its cleared from there site so im hoping it will come any day im also having probs with Game and have had to go locally today and spend money on a ps3 game as they sent me an x box game instead im going to get my refund from them. Paid for it through quidco so ill prob lose my commission too.....

  • i have used play loads of times and never had a problem so far, i ordered 5 /games on fri and they arrived this morning.

    i must admit i have had a problem with game, i ordered a wii fit and they sent me the silicone mat instead, i contacted them straight away and it was collected and the wii fit arrived the next day.

    i would try calling or emailing them again

    I had a similar sort of thing happen to me when I ordered a digital camera - didn't have the instructions so I arranged for them to pick it up and replace it. The new one didn't turn up so I rang them and said they were waiting for me to ring up to arrange a replacement, they then duly sent it out. So it may be worth ringing and checking with them that they are actually sending you a replacement if you see what I mean!!! Other than that I've always found them to be excellent

  • Amazon has come to my rescue, ordered it on the 16th and delivered today. I thought once Play.com had sent me that email on 16th I was stuffed. If Amazon can deliver it in 4 days, how come Play cant in 4 weeks.

    Will write to Play.com about their poor service in the next few days.

    Have you not taken a look on play.com to see if they have any stock of the game? Maybe they refunded you because they don't have any to send out?

  • Yes I did that, and it said it was in stock, even phoned the helpline and waited for ages and was told it'll be with you next week, no problem.

    I waited two weeks for the first delivery and it was for a Wii rather than a PS2 and two weeks from that incorrect delivery to having an email saying you have been refunded. I was checking my account all the time and it said that I had received the item. I had to call to find out if they had received the incorrect item back, and it was that call when I asked if the item was being delivered before Christmas, I was told we have received the incorrect item back and the correct item will be with you next week.

    Take peoples advice and ring them or email them. Dont just make more threads linking to this thread.

  • Add to the list of complaints against Play.com, my case:
    Order a Sandisk Extreme3 SDHC 4GB card and the desciption includes a card reader. Item received and card reader not there! Incorrect descriptions!
    When buying blind, you put faith that you will get the product you think you are buying. But this memory card is needed this weekend, so left in no other position to accept the incorrect item! robbing bssss's (they even post photos to fool you into thinking so)

    What makes it more frustrating I decided to buy the more expensive of the two SDHC 4GB they sell. I paid £15.49 although could have paid £12.49!

    I have no option but allow play.com to cheat and sell inferior products than the description!!! Waited 10 minutes on the phone and no progress, anyone got an email address.... how do I resolve this, looks like I just need to accept the mis-selling! (now off to get my coat and buy a card reader! tut!)
