Wrong price in Asda

Don't see why you don't like Asda overcharges too.
When you get £2 back for a 5p overcharge it can't be a bad thing :T
Also I tend to find Asda are generally less obnoxious and less argumentative about overcharges than the likes of Tesco and Morrisons.0 -

You've obviously not tried it against the rottweiler in the Cambridge store

I've been overcharged a couple of times in Asda recently, I was given my money back but not a gift card.0

I was undercharged at Asda on Christmas Eve
Got a pack of 2 Fifi and the Flowertots socks for my DD, should have been £3 but went through the till at 50p! They weren't in a reduced section, just where the normal socks are and didn't have any reduced stickers on. 0 -

I find the ASDA custromer service staff sometimes need a "reminder" about company policy re £2 gift cardWhen an eel bites your bum, that's a Moray0 -

Agreed but one of the CS staff at my ASDA always responds with 'We have been told to tell the customers that the £2.00 gift card is only for customers who have been inconvenienced by having to come back into the store." Duh??? My response to her is always "Can you call a manager please?" and every time, a supervisor comes and is told the tale, I get the £2.00 without fuss. They add it to a Christmas Savings Card.
BTW these savings cards have to be used up or added to within 24 months or 'Asda reserves the right to charge an administrative fee of £1 per month whilst the account remains in credit.'
Happy New Year and many good savings to all .........

We were told this week that you dont get the £2 giftcard if you self scan and I pointed out to her that I been over charged and self scanned the week previous and was given a gift card but she just shruged at us. They dont seem to know what the policy is really.

Letter received from Asda last year, note in the letter and was on the link below ; - " This £2.00 gift card is issued without hesitation and applies to every product you are over charged on, not per transaction as you have previously been informed." However they have changed the wording on the site to read "per transaction" and not "each product".

Dear Mr
Thank you for taking the time to contact me about our over charging policy.
Following our recent telephone conversation I can clarify that in the instance we do accidentally overcharge our customers, ASDA have a policy to reimburse the difference along with a £2.00 gift card for the inconvenience. This £2.00 gift card is issued without hesitation and applies to every product you are over charged on, not per transaction as you have previously been informed.
You can claim these gift cards by either returning to the store itself or you can call us on 0500 1000 55, either way it's not a problem.
I do hope my letter answers your query and if I can be of any further assistance please do not hesitate to contact me.
Yours sincerely
Alexandra Porritt

What does "per transaction" mean then? Is it per till receipt? or does it mean that if you were overcharged on 2 items you'd only get £2 back, as opposed to £2 per item?0
