Tiff I'm so sorry to hear that your mum is so poorly and you are having such a horrible time when you're "meant" to be having a good time. Hope today is better for you lovely tiffy xxx Look after yourself and try to enjoy your day as much as you can xxxxx And please don't feel guilty for sharing, you're always there for everyone else so it's your turn for some big (((HUGS)))

Hi guys!
When I woke and saw your beautiful messages of support for Mum and I, tears came immediately. Thank you so very much - you honestly don't know what it means to me. You're a fantastic group of people - thank you. I felt like I could almost reach out and touch you all and those special virtual hugs felt so close to me. I'm so very grateful for your support and friendship.

I felt so alone and it felt even crueller because I've already lost 4 of my Dad's sisters and his brother just in this year! As those who've read the Tiff Chronicles will know, December, particulary the first 2 weeks is hard for me with, as I said, Dad dying 3 years ago on 2nd December and buried just 5 days before my birthday, (the Coroner had allowed it before the final inquest), but also last week was the anniversary of me being held hostage and nearly dying and also the anniversary of my cousin being killed. Well, I'm determined she's going to make it - Mum'll be 71 on 14th January and I want an excuse to party.

An update on Mum - she got worse overnight and had a bad night apparently and she has now been moved to a different ward. And yes, she's in the right place and with the right people, I know. She was crying last night when I saw her, because she felt she'd ruined Christmas - family is everything to her - and she actually felt embarrassed that she had to be in hospital on Christmas Day. She was also upset because today is my birthday and she felt guilty because of being in hospital. I told her we'd be seeing her for the same amount of quality time, just a different venue that's all and that seemed to ease her mind a little.
I'm going to spend part of the evening at the hospital visiting her. DS has just left to spend Christmas with ex-[STRIKE]rat[/STRIKE], erm, husband and his partner, so that's me done for now. I'm just keeping myself busy. I'll hopefully be cooking Christmas dinner tomorrow - with DS really helping me with the cooking for the first time.

I'm sorry to have kicked off Christmas Day with my news last night - and now! - and I meant what I said, Christmas deserves celebrating. No-one's earned it more than you guys. I don't want to have ruined Christmas for anyone. Sadly, today is just like any other day and these things happen.

So I want you all to go and squeeze as much happiness and love out of the day as you can...except for sazzy and gilly-brocky-badgie, 'cos it sounds like they're getting enough already! Just joking guys, I wish you both so much love.

Right - where's me mistletoe?! I've had the same
branch for eight years!

Hi guys!
Me again.
I just want to say thank you for your lovely birthday messages to me, guys. I can't believe I'm 44 years old! But I've counted all the rings, and it's true.
Well I'll give it a try today - but if I don't like it, then it's back to 43 tomorrow!!!

Sadly, yet again, the only thing in my stockings this Christmas morning, was me!
I have had a couple of really lovely gifts so far and some beautiful cards though. I've already started dropping hints for next year's birthday prezzies...

Well, I live in hope!
