Disneyland Paris and Transfers

Hi,

I've booked for Disneyland Paris in May and would like advise on transfer options and prices.

Travel rep said the regular buses were easy....but....we have learnt that the 19 miles can take between 45 and 120 minutes?

A hire car seems a good option but Avis were not helpful and wouldn't let us use Tesco vouchers to get an option for less than 7 days (only going for 4).
Any advice on car hire would be good as it allows us to get cheaper food from outside the park.

Reading MSE, another option is RER...but... what is this, does it run between Disney and CDG airport and is is reliable?

Any help?

I was at DP a couple of years ago, and the bus journey from Charles de Gaule airport was quite straight forward and took us right to the hotel. Unfortunately it's all a bit vague now, but I remember it took about an hour, and was probably quicker than trying to hire a car at the airport and then find the right directions. We didn't use the train (RER) at all, but there is a station right in DP itself. Hope this is a bit of help. :)

Right outside CDG airport there are buses with Disney on the side, they will take you to which ever hotel you are staying at whether it be a Disney or a Disney neighbour hotel (holiday Inn etc). They are air conditioned and the trip takes about 1 hour. We did the mistake of taking the rer which we had to change half way there, it was crowded, no seats left for most of the journey and worked out more expensive than the coach. When you are returning to the airport you can book a space on a disney coach and they will pick you and luggage up before leaving for the airport.

Forgot to add that once you are in your hotel you can take the rer for one stop and there is a huge shopping centre with a supermarket etc that you can stock up in. As it is only one stop away it costs next to nothing and takes no time at all.
  • Can i ask another q re Disneyland Paris just slightly goin off thread but my wife is a Disney Nut and has been too America about 6 times ! But want id like to know if she ever went to Paris would she in any way be dissapointed in comparison to the Walt Disney World in Orlando even though i know Paris is on a smaller scale ?

    Réseau Express Régional - It's a train.

You haven't get anything quite like it in the UK but it's a fast train service that connects the suburbs to the city and goes through the city underground.

There's also the Metro (Underground), rail network, trams, buses and coaches as part of the Paris public transport system. It's half the price of London and it works (except for the odd strike!).

The RER can be a bit grotty and in some areas unsafe but that's just the same as any UK city I suppose.

You can get some Eurostar trains directly to Disneyland.

Look at this old thread and my post.

Transport is easy, buses take 45-120 minutes depending on traffic and are just outside the airport terminal.
RER can take as long with a change of station.Watch out for rush hour!

Another option is the TGV, takes 12 minutes!

Lancashire lad, yes she would as PARIS is not a touch as good as USA.
