Ah, you young folk! I've still got all mine mouldering away in the loft - thirty years later, lol!:o Must get rid before my kids have to do it.........

  • I chucked all of mine into the recycling as soon as my classification was confirmed. They weren't very neat anyway.
  • mine meet the recycling as soon as they are finished with. My books, however, are a totally different point. ill keep them for as long as i last.

  • Don't get me started on the books :) Notes I can let go of, but books are a different matter. OH and I are planning a bit of a cull after Christmas but it's going to be heart-wrenching deciding what goes and what stays! We MUST get rid of some though, I won't tell you how many boxes of books are still sitting unpacked in our living room ...

I still have all my notes from GCSE! I really need to clear them out.

I just graduated from my MSc so I'll see what happens. I was thinking of sending them off in a big bonfire when their usefulness/sentimental value has been exhausted.

What notes? I never took any. I began one Oxford notepad at the start of my degree and finished it with my last essay in the third year. (This was before word processing.)

    Wow!

My notes are shrinking as I progress but I still take a certain amount.

I had masses from my access course, most of which I dumped not long after I finished. Then a few less from my first year of uni, which I condensed early last year and have recently condensed again. I also dumped much of the remaining access stuff recently.

The second year stuff fits in 2 ring binders but I did have two modules where the lecturer gives out reams of photocopied handouts! I do actually use those handouts though, to be fair - they are chapters from books and come in very useful for some essays!

I have about 4/5 pages from a recent module so I'm getting much better, but it's all the handouts/lecture notes etc too that take up space.

Most will go once I have finished I think, but the marked assignments will stay.

Did you not get handouts/lecture notes and the like either? And, if you were reading for something, did you not take notes for that either?

I know people who don't take notes at all but I'm too anxious to give it up altogether tbh!
