mysterious dog vomit??????

Hi folks,I wonder if anyone can shed any light on a strange phenomenon I have with my lovely dog right now.
We have been to the vets and all they want to do is tests,but I dont think its a complicated issue and wondered if anyone could help.
Here goes for the last week on and off,she has vomited after eating a meal,however I was told by her breeder around a fortnight ago that she was overweight,I PERSONALLY THINK THE BREEDERS DOGS LOOK UNDERWEIGHT,the vet has told me she is fine for her size weight wise but inj the meantime I had cut down her food..........
Since this time we have been to the vets with the vomiting, this had been mainly after eating, perhaps every other day, not every meal by any means and she is well hydrated,pooing and weeing properly,with no problem.
My problem is that the vet says she thinks she has eaten something she shouldnt have, because of the sickness,causing a blockage but, shes not that kind of dog and I disagree with the vet, because its not a constant sickness and toillets are fine. My thoughts are that on cutting down her food she is eating too fast, cause she is hungry, causing her to vomit,has any one heard of this, or had this????
She was sick this after noon after 48 hours of no sickness, Ive fed her straight sfter this with two small meals one after the other and she hasnt been sick??? Can anyone make sense of this, we had been given Zantac at the vets which she has taken and been fine with,this finished yesterday.

I think a second opinion is an option in this case, I don't recommend chopping and changing vets, BUT you know your dog best and if you are unhappy with what the vet has suggested, go to another one.

I'm not a vet so can't comment, but 1 of my local vets, seems to want to run tests and keep pets in over night, they ask if your insured, one of my friends is a new dog owner his dog has had several tests only to be told they can't find anything, at one time the vet would have given tablets and told owners to come back if it didn't improve, dogs eat all sorts of rubbish mine included and we have the occasional bout of sickness

Do dogs get stomach bugs like we do ????

course they do, I feed my dogs a dry mixer and leave it in the bowl all day, they eat what they want, there not overweight, as my sis keeps telling me you can over walk a dog, you can't I've tried the little devil acts like he's on drugs. Common sense is whats needed and that's difficult when your worried, if my dogs been sick I take my sisters advice she's a nurse, remove food but leave plenty of water down, after a few hours try food again, my dog's stomach doesn't seem to like rich food, so he gets that sparingly.

Funnily enough my lad has vomited huge amounts twice thisa week - and hes on strict rations as well so what you say about wolfing the food down my be correct.

If she is wolfing her food then add a tennis ball or place a heavy tin of beans in the bowl so she has to eat around it - and so slow down

My lad it could be anything, hes always on the scrounge so Im not unduly worried atm and will wait till his follow up to discuss it with the vet.

Btw I had a springer pup here last year who swallowed a stone that caused an obstruction. Soon knew he was ill as he just constantly vomited one morning right after his brekkie about 48 hours after he had swallowed the stone. Poor wee mite vomited so much all was left was bile and still he was sick

Thanks Suki for the tennis ball tip,it may slow her down. As for the swallowing thing she doesnt seem to be in pain and as you say vomiting is not constant,so may be her speedy diet eating!!!!!!

if my dog drinks a lot straight after eating he can end up chucking it all back up - amazing how quickly the kitchen becomes empty of people when that happens !

She has been burping, and gulping for england since eating, but she didnt drink much with her tea this time.
