paid in full £299 using debit card at motor world for garmin zumo 550 sat nav, great price I even asked staff to double check price correct. Said they would ring me when it arrived at store. They rang to say cheaper model had arrived< I could have that and refund of price difference but the 550 had gone up in price and I would have to pay £374.99 if I wanted it. My solicitor sent lettersaying they had a binding contract with me-no response from motor world!! Letter resent recorded delivery also informing them trading standards informed. My solicitor has just phoned me to say a manager from motor world has just phoned saying he has just come from an administrators meeting they offered a full refund, but if I want the zumo 550 it may be six months as their supplies are wary of dealing with them!! Yet they are still taking orders for goods!! You have been warned!! Will let you all know the outcome. These zumo 550 are as much as £500 elsewhere
they cant pay what they owe and people wont sell to them, looks likes its curtains for them then.

did i say months? i meant a month, and only cos it takes that long to empty the shops in liquidation sales

Luckily my partner is a solicitor and didn't bill me!!

just out of interest what would a ball park figure be for two letters, how often I've been tempted to get a solicitor and would be very interested in costs.

    prob £50+vat
  • How do you plan making them do that???

might go thro small claims court, on basis those who get in 1st more likely t b paid, but as info is that motor world is in financial difficulty, will prob not risk good money after bad at this time. will see if they survive, as have six years to make a claim and in the meantime will see if trading standards prosecute. If they do, and I am a witness, I will ask magistrates to order them to pay me compensation. If they agree ,.:rotfl: it will have cost me nothing
  • What's the name of that Dickens story?

Updated this year "A Christmas CarolEB."

Now who's going to get the leading role?

    Compensation for what exactly?

And how do you plan to sue someone for the price differance of a product.
