Buying from Phones4u, The Link etc...
Hi everyone, I just got a phone from phones4u. I was wondering, once they have sold you the phone and contract what control do they have over you.
Eg they added a bolt on on my contract which I didnt want, they told me to give me the cashback deal I wanted, I would have to accept it. They also told me I wouldnt be able to cancel it within 6 months. However, the second i got home I phoned the network and cancelled it!
Do they have any control over you, ie would they be able to force my bolt on back on?

Oh dear, you probably ought not to have cancelled it. If you have entered into a cashback deal with Phones4u, then it might be on the basis that you do not change the tariff at all, or at least for a period of time. You must immediately check the terms of the contract that you made with Phones4u. You may well have to forego any cashback arrangement now.
Phones4u don't have any control over what you do, but in doing what you have you may have invalidated the terms of the cashback deal. The cashback comes to yourself from Phones4u, and it is dependent on you staying connected for a period of time and staying on the tariff you electeed to have at the start. Unless you contract with Phone4u states otherwise.
Phones4u will get the commission they pay to you in the form of cashback from whichever network service provider they put you with. The cashback, in part at least, is then passed back to you, providing you have adhered to the contract terms.0 -
Phones4u gave me the cashback in one sum, in my pocket - £90. Therefore they dont owe me anything.
Does what you say still apply?

Looks like you'll be ok then - no need to worry. If the network are happy to let you change the tariff, then it's ok.0
