ovh doesnt seem to say what the renewal fee for .uk domains is, and with taking a free one it is not yours to transfer elsewhere until that renewal fee is paid.... beware, seems like a bit of a trick.

I got 4 of the free domains from them to play around with, pointed them to free hosting .

Will probably keep 1 or 2 when it comes to renewal - which if you click on Domains/domain prices clearly shows the price as £5.99 in 2 clicks.

Yup, but my point is, to offer someone something for free but declare they don't own it until they pay a renewal 2 years later leaves you open to some serious abuse if they decide to do so.

2 years is a long time, you may really build a nice domain in that time with more value than you think, only to find ovh have been stringing you along all that time.

Just be careful.

If you wanted a domain that you thought had any value to yourself then register it with a reputable registrar, pay a registration fee and know your clear of any of this type of terms.
