Confused on whats best to do when we move on 2nd Jan!!

First post on here, so please be gentle :D

I am moving on 2nd January, currently we have all singing all dancing SKY, with 8 mg Broadband and free calls at the weekend, at the moment its costs around £55-£65 a month.. plus my BT landline.. I think its costing way too much... okay we may buy 1 or 2 films a month but I still think this is expensive..

My thoughts are to disconnect and reconnect as a new customer on a lower deal and get the £50 marks voucher, or maybe go for freeview and sign up to love film or something.. Problem is my partner is a football freak.. and he does love the sports channels..

Any ideas or help would be greatfully recieved

It all depends on what you can decide could be your "bottom line" requirements with respect of phone, internet and TV.

For example, if you went for freeview, you could get a FREE top up TV digital recorder if you sign up to Setanta Sports 1 at £9.99 per month.

This gives you similar features to Sky+ but on freeview - and you'd own the box without any monthly fee (to get the box free I think you agree to at least 12 months of Setanta).

This would then allow you to look at TalkTalk/Tiscali/whoever for phone and broadband combo packages. You may be able to get broadband and inclusive calls for under £20/month, bringing total spend before films-on-demand to under £30 per month. Lovefilm now offer a pay-as-you-go service, there are several download options, too (lovefilm, itunes etc)

It all depends which sports are the most important... and how important they are.

    Hope this helps!
