Did a silly thing with my Belling Cooker!

I have just bought a Belling range cooker which has brushed alluminium doors, there was a mark on one of the doors and I used a scourer to clean it (I know a stupid thing to do) I meant to use the sponge side!.
Now you can see slight scratches on the door that really show up in the light, is there anything I can do - aside from getting a new door.
Any advice would be gratefully received.

Have you tried baby oil? It wont get rid but it might "hide it" for a while?
A new door might be the only thing to do (OUCH!):wave:0 -

this is only an idea but perhaps a metal polish like autosol or maybe brasso might work...however if the rest of the door is brushed aluminium that might mean that instead of a scored bit you end up with a shiny bit!0
