O2 Payg

Hi Everyone,

this is a follow up to my previous thread about which network is 'best' for PAYG.

Thanks for all the replies to that one, and with your advice I decided to get the O2 PAYG for all the freebies - I already had one of the those free ones off the net so I've been using that.

Anyway, can anyone tell me, when you initially register it which 'package' it is on? (i.e. the 300 free texts or the mix of free minutes and texts)

I can't find it anywhere and it doesn't seem to be on any package as everytime I text someone money is gone from my credit balance.
I sent a text to O2 saying which package I wanted (the mix) and they sent one back saying thanks and they would apply it from next month - so what am I on now?

It looks to me as if I am just on a regular PAYG sim now where you pay for all calls and texts until you have no credit left and need to top up. If that's the case it's a bit cheeky when they lure you in with promises of free texts and minutes! Can anyone shed any light for me? i'm a bit disappointed to be honest if I have to wait a month to actually start getting the free extras.

Having said that though, I have got £3.50 off O2 in rewards so far (£1 for putting £10 on and £2.50 for registering the sim) plus I've got a free ringtone and game off the O2 site....

Sorry to ramble!

Just one other quick question - I was wondering if there were any free Orange PAYG sims out there? Not to use to make calls or texts, but just to get the 2 4 1 cinema offer? If there aren't any would it be worth buying just to get the 2 4 1 deal if we used it most weeks? Any thoughts (it might not be worth it if I have to top up with £50 every month to keep the sim going! LOL)

Thanks - Carly

The easiest way is to send an email to 02 and enquire that way.I have used have used this way of contacting them several times and it means they HAVE to respond.Tell them they have been overcharging you.
    good luck

Dial 2425 choose Opt1 then Opt 3 to change your monthly allowance. But this will take effect from next time you top up,you cant do it in mid-flight!!!

To find out what your on at moment. 2425 opt1 ,opt 3, then press 1 and then it will give you an option to change,if your on calls it will offer messages only ,or vice versa.
