student100 wrote:As we posted in this thread, the winning bidder was an experienced ebayer who deliberately bid (with a different account) in order to prevent someone else from being scammed. The seller now has bad feedback because he was quite obviously trying to con people. I think it worked out quite well really...
It certainly did work out - and saved a real bidder a lot of money.
Personally I wouldn't have paid £135 for the real pink phone...I got mine for £12.50 a month contract :rotfl:Cross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. some buyers just think that ebay=good value
they get caught up in the excitement of teh auction and its like..one more tenner and its mine...just one more.... and suddenly theyre paying well over the odds!
i bought an animal jacket in the allsports sale for £2.50 and after washing it a few times the sleeves shrunk in the wash i popped it on ebay with full info, including all measurements and it sold for £16!:T The best things in life are FREE! :T0 -
Am I right in thinking that now the item has been sold the seller will still have to pay ebay their %. Or does it now create work for the seller to avoid ebay their money.

I have bought and sold on ebay but never had a non payer fortunately0 -

Last week I sold a DVD that came free with a magazine, I was expecting £2-£3 for it. It sold for £11.50, and there were lots of identical ones for sale including one that failed to sell just 6 mins after mine at 99p!
Some people seem to get the mentality that once they've spotted something and bid for it, they fiercely do not want to lose and even if they pay over the odds for it they think they've 'won'.
I'm not complaining though!

the seller was out to pull a fast one! full stop!
i emailed the seller and asked if the auction was for the box only and had no reply, obviously out to scam someone.0 -
I had 2 identical items costing £20. (Not really as they were part of bundles which cost around £50 but I sold part of the bundles for £30).
Anyway I put one on buy it now, got £50 for it no problem. Buyer even collected from my house!
The auction style lisiting of the exact same listing went for just £35!0 -
