Phones4u.co.uk cashback

Hi,
I was just wondering what phones4u are like for cashback. They pay the full amount in one go after 6 months.
This is what it states in the t&c

...'Within 30 days of the handset being connected, a redemption form will be sent to the e-mail address used during the purchase. This redemption form will need to be completed and returned via post along with the users month 6 bill, the form must be received no later than 7 months from the users initial connection date. The 6 month bill must show that the user is on the same or higher value tariff. Cheques will be made payable to the person who placed the original order and will be issued within 30 days of receipt of the redemption form and bill.'...

It sounds a good offer and they are a large company but i was wondering if anyone has had any experience of them with cashback?

  • I sent in my paperwork and got the check in 5 weeks time.

In my case I got a connection in June and the 1st bill was sent a few days after that. I sent in the bill that came in November making it the 6th bill along with the 1st bill and lo and behold got the check after about 5 weeks without me having to chase them.

If one accounts for the Christmas and New Year holidays then P4U did a good job.
  • Thank you for the reply. That sounds good especially as it was near christmas!
Has anyone else had any experience of P4U cashback?

Very similar experience here. I took advantage of a cashback deal in june. Sent in my claim for £210 the end of november.

Slightly wary of cashback as this was the first time i'd tried it so was thrilled when the cheque came without any prompting a couple of weeks ago.

Excellent service and very pleased :)

I found phones4u absolutely no problem at all for cashback plus I was really impressed because they didnt have a time slot in which to claim it, you could just claim it when you wanted as long as it was after the 6 months.

Don't know if things will be different though this year as I saw on the news just before christmas that the owner of phones4u had sold it to someone else. I cant rem who though but because he wanted more time to spend doing charity work. I just hope things stay the same with the new owner.

Once I find a reasonable deal I'm going to go back to phones4u to see if they can match it or more, they did last year coz I'd rather have 1 cashback deal to claim and no nonsense claiming with them than all messing around experienced through other places
    Thanx
