Ways to keep drain clear?

In reply to Suzy M, I would say that there seem to be a lot of people asking for advice, who have never even drilled a hole or put in a screw, and I think. Even if there is information being provided, they are not going to be able to do this. I would think that almost everybody must know someone who has DIY skills, and would be happy to pass them on. A bit of one-to-one tuition would make a huge improvement to all but the most inept of beginners. In my life time I have met many people who have no intention of ever learning to do any DIY for themselves, they are quite content to let Dad or anyone to do it for them, and seem to be proud of their attitude.
I do feel sympathy for those on these posts who quite obviously want to do things for themselves. This is not really the place for them to learn. It is impossble for us who do have some skills to adequately pass them on in a quick post. In one-one tuition you can pass on loads of experience very quickly, and oversee what sort of a job the learner is doing.
Still, keep on asking the questions, you out there, and we will continue to try to help.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -
The plastic ones that the OP mentioned might not fit the shower in question,More information is needed-The OP might have a walk in shower with a 5" circle drain
I saw some huge ones in Woolies today - probably about 5", I think they were £2.45 or thereabouts (probably some sort of discount on that, too). A creamy plastic though, so not terribly attractive.0 -
can you just chuck a flannel over the plug hole whilst showering, the water will slowly drain away once you have finished, remove the flannel and hair0
