I haven't received the breakdown in the post yet (or I've subconciously ignored the letter!). No it's Lloyds.
Do you know what, i think i'm going to phone them and just beg. They can only say no. I might also threaten to close my account and see if that makes them shift. Grrrr

i knew it. i knew it. See my posts for my ongoing battle with lloyds The S*** Bank. of course you will get all different calibres of imbeciles telling you you in fact "deserve" it, you had an agreement.. yada yada... but lloyds are unbelievably unethical, and i can give names of at least 5 people who have ended up in debt with either loans and credit cards- directly as a result of this terrible quicksand trap they set for you. if anybody i know's experiences are anything to go by, they'll offer you an "option" which will involve getting into more debt. i've tried the sympathy vote with them before- they took some of my student grant once for overdraft charges. If my experience is anything to go by, no, they won't budge, but it is worth a try. this happened to me on xmas eve- my the time i checked my bank on the 27th, i'd incurred 130 in charges. they just laugh at you. if i had the skills i would set up a website devoted to dragging their name through the mud for what they do to people. britains most trusted bank? i wouldnt trust them with 2p of my money. and after o/d charges, that's probably all i'll have left. i'm sorry, this is so dreadful for you. :(
    "What...? I was only saying...."
  • Has anybody noticed that despite cuts in BBR, HSBC continue to charge 11.3% (11.9% APR) on overdrafts?

I rang them this morning and was told "well we're more competitive than the other banks" and "this is the first query I've had regarding overdraft rates!"

Is this something that Martin could run up the flag pole?

I had one about 4 weeks ago due to HALIFAX fault, although it took about 4 people to realise it was there error and not mine. They where holding bank a debit card transaction against fraud check , wasn't my transaction. They did cancel the charge, but to this date it still makes my blood boil as all the 4 members of staff all stated different reasons against the transaction. My last comment , walking out of there was, "You can see why HALIFAX needed the BIG HELP". No comment from any member of staff.

    MOVING THREADS FOR BETTER RESPONSES

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere (please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to the Reclaim your Charges board, where it should get more replies.
