Anyone experienced OneStopPhoneShop calling home phone numbers to cold call the sale of mobile phones with a "you have been selected as one of only 10 people in your area to recieve our special offer" type call?

I have a relative who's says she's been rung at least 4 times in the last few days from their call center.

She is a CPW customer but I'm sure she wouldn't have agreed to her phone being used for marketing purposes, and she's TPS registered, I just checked.

I guess I need to track down someone for her to complain too.

I've been with them for just over one year, no calls on land line or mobiles.
All cashbacks paid to date (£600! so far, posting last £300 voucher today, fingers crossed)

OSPS are owned by CPW, one reason I've just ordered 3 more phones from them yesterday: They are less likly to go bust than some of the smaller companies.

Absolutely no calls from them, even though the have my home number, and mobiles.

Lots of cold calls claim to be from Orange etc even though they are not?
Be very careful who you talk to. I got a cold call from India about bulldog ADSL. I turns out Bulldog (who I use) gave the number to a company in India to call me. They wanted my CCard info for an offer. I did not give the details until calling their representitive at bulldog in the UK and verifying the whole setup. It was legit, but it took me an hour to verify. Always call a UK landline not mobiles, and call the head office to validate. Remember landlines and web pages and caller ID can be faked.

To be safe you could just reject all cold called offers.

Ask the caller for their full name, contact info, and the name of their manager to report the call. Also log the call and report to the company in writing.

She has tried, but she finds the overseas call center staff difficult to understand and they seem to ring off rather than giver her any details. I think I'll set up a call recorder so I can hear what they say.

I didn't expect CPW/OSPS to be doing this, but she is sure that's what she hears as the company name.

that is because they are keen to encourage you to consider a new contract, as they know you are in the notice period

... whether you do or not is up to you, and no influence on the cashback
