It's reasonable to assume if the VVT controller is playing up, the timing may be out which would have a knock on effect to the emissions.
As 2 Litre suggests, the emissions could cause an MOT failure0 -
and if the airbag light is illuminated after start up
mine comes up with airbag failure stop engine and they told me it did it and ignored it, its a common fault with sensors under the seats, fixable with wd40
at least thats the case for fiat stilo drivers, its how you know its actually a stilo

My car has it's engine management light on permanently, it's an error thrown up by the ECU, it thinks the Lambda sensor is knackered even though it's been investigated and it's not. It passed the last MOT though it did get mentioned on the advisory note, the emissions were fine.2009 wins: Signed Saxon CD, Solar Torch, Drumsticks, Priest Feast Tix, Watch, Hammerfest tix :beer:0

So the light was out, but it still failed! There was no light telling me that the tyres were worn out.
In the eyes of the tester one was too worn on the outer edge, but they were all low. I rang all the Toyo dealers in Pembrokeshire to find a set of T1R's but nobody would supply till the 5th:mad: .
Camskill came up trumps ordered yesterday morning and delivered this morning:T MOT cert issued.0 -
Yes it will go through the MOT without a problem - mine has been through several MOT's and services. Ford 'can't find the problem' so I have to live iwth mine (but it means I can't sell my car on ) I have the same problem as stumpjumper as far as I am aware.0
