MOT engine warning light

My engine warning light is on (I know why) will the car pass the MOT with it on? I think that it will.

I would imagine so, unless the engine is literally falling to bits or the emmisions(sp?) are too high it wouldn't fail. I would get it checked out though and get it sorted, last thing you need it your car breaking down over christmas.

If you know why it is on, why not let us in on the secret so we can have a decent stab as opposed to guessing??

they might just advise you its the case, i drive a stilo and they bring up warning lights for fun, they just advise me when they do and pass it

depends if the vehicle has gone into limp home mode as it would affect the emissions
i would say it will fail

Its an 02 MX5

OK, I have now fixed for the second time in 2 weeks. The VVT controller sticks open or closed it has to be unbolted cleaned (with break and clutch cleaner) and put back the light seems to go out after the car has been started 3 times. I have watched a main dealer do this.



There is no limp mode being implemented goes to 7.5k quite happly

This seems crazy especially as many cars dont have ABS.
