  • I never do a starter - waste of tummy space ;)

We used to have prawn cocktail every year too, but fancied a change this year, lol.

I think we're going to have smoked mackeral pate - you make it with cottage cheese, lemon juice, grated mackeral and some other things (which I've forgotton! lol). It's ever so easy to make and tastes amazing, I highly recommend it! :D.

Don't bother with a starter, but we have Bucks Fizz and canapes when my parents arrive and we open presents with them, then we sit down for a main course, dessert, cheeseboard and coffee and mints.

Nobody is every hungry for tea :D

Thats why we just have the turkey sandwiches & mince pies.

We sit for dinner about 3pm & don't finish till about 5pm. So we couldn't eat another meal in the evening.

We do that sort of buffet thing on NYE.

Much lighter weight this year (having lost 3 stone ;))

I'm veggie so tend to have 17 kinds of veg for xmas dinner. Slightly dreading going even slightly over my 20g of carbs (just a couple of spoonfuls of peas could do that, and i'll already be avoiding spuds and parsnips :() as it will make me very tired and headachy. :o

We're having broccoli soup, freshly made, with walnuts on. Everyone else is getting goat's cheese on top as well, but the German pregnancy rules say I'm not allowed to eat it.

It also says I can't have feta, but I can have four cups of coffee a day. I'm considering a rule by which I follow the rules of the country I happen to be in, although I don't know which country would let me have half a glass of the wine I so carefully picked out and ordered.

    Hmph.
