I totally agree with the point that kids comps should be for kids. I think it's really out of order if adults are "making kids up" just so they can enter these comps. As a poster above already said CITV stopped running competitions which is a shame as my kids have always entered these sort of competitions themselves. The same with the Toxic competition that ran not long ago, where the first 20 people to enter every day won a prize. My daughter got up extra early to enter before school to try to win a prize for her and her brother but I'll bet there were adults entering that at a minute past midnight!! Needless to say she never won anything!

I think there should be a clause in all kids comps stating that proof of age must be obtained before a prize is sent out!

    Okay rant over!
If at first you don't succeed ........ ;) Alternative autism therapies should be free!!
  • CITV stopped their comps for kids because of adults telling lies. Leave the kids comps for the kids!

Littleholly, I would be pleased if you did not judge me with the rolling eyes thanks. I wasn't asking in an attempt to cheat!

I've wondered if people do lie about their age for competition (personally, I think lots of people do). I've noticed a lot of age restricted competitions that must be entered by kids/over 50s directly, but clearly there are some adults on the forum saying they've entered when they don't seem to fit into those demographics. At least one person on this thread has entered their own name on behalf of a U16 which strictly speaking disqualifies them.

I don't do it to keep for myself, the signed poster I won is hanging on my daughters wall as I type this and I also emailed a thank you to the company so they knew I had done it and they still sent it to me. I just don't want my girls details floating round the net or for them to get a load of junk mail through the door.

I let my kids enter the kids comps - but they have to use my email as I'm not comfortable at the moment with them having their own email addresses

No I'm not either. I suppose I should start letting them... it's that whole letting them go/grow up thing that I'm terrible at! (As my OH keeps telling me!:o:p)

I wasn't judging you personally, it is my feeling towards anybody who enters kids comps for themselves. My eldest used to love the CITV comps but now she can't do them because selfish adults ruined it for her and other children.

    NOW IN COMPING SEMI-RETIREMENT! :D
