After working for Morgan Stanley, Discover and Barclaycard, I have witnessed the rip of rates people endure when enjoying a holiday. Do yourself a favour and get a Nationwide account. Friendly and efficient contact centres if you have any problems and no foreign transaction fees! I load a debit card before I go and always keep it separate from the credit card for obvious reasons. If you apply for the Nationwide FlexAccount you can get a credit card an app stage, and add additional card holders if you've got another half!0
