Motorola Razr V3 - No sounds!!

Just got a brand new Black V3 and I realised it wont play any tunes apart from the standard motorola ring tones. I can view and hear videos but it wont play any music sound such as mp3 and default ringtones. any ideas how to sort this prob? The only thing Ive done is had the phone unlocked - i never tested the sounds before that so i dont know if that caused the problem

Hmmm... it's weird that it will play some sounds and not others.

I can't for the life of me think of any situation where it will play some ringtones and not others, unless it doesn't like the type of mp3s you are using... but then there is the game sounds not playing either.

Does the video sound come out of the earpiece or the loudspeaker? This should give me a better idea of what is wrong.

Im not using a headphone at all - all sounds that do play are via the speaker. It plays standard ringtones but as I say, there are a whole load of others that come on the phone that just wont play. The phone trys to play them all i hear is a small click once and thats it. Video play perfectly.

It just occurred to me, I think the phone came with a CD - could it be that I need to install a something from it to the phone to get the audio to work? Ive never had to do this before on any other phone ive had.

Im travelling at the moment so I cant accesss the box/cd etc to find out!

how are you getting on with yours? I am ready to give up can't get the music to play but it is downloaded

To be honest, im frustrated as I cant get the damn thing to function and as Im travelling, I cant cant get any advice (apart from this website!)

What have you tried doing? have to taken yours to a dealer etc? Im reluctant to get mine checked out as Im abroad and dont want the warranty to be affected etc.
