The Boots ones are much cheaper and are often included in the 3 for 2/buy 1 get 1 free type deals. Most pools will quite rightly not let you in unless the baby is wearing a swim nappy. Many pools also recommend at least one of the first vaccinations first. If you do buy a reusable, be careful with the sizing. On a long thin baby the legs may be too wide, so you aren't able to use them without leaking.

I got some Asda ones for (I think) about £2.97 ish.

Very small babies can usually only tolerate 10 or 15 mins in the water so get the cheapest ones you can as they're not on for long.

You need a washable one. Much cheaper. We use one by a make of washable nappy, for the life of me I can't remember what it's called, (kooshy?) I'll have a look at the label in the morning.

Anyhoo, it velcroes and ties, it has elasticated legs, and is lined with soft terry. Super, and hugely cheaper than little swimmers.
I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.

Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.
  • When I take my son swimming, I put a washable swimming nappy on top of a disposable nappy. I prefer doing this, as it ensures that there is no leakage. I'm am very glad that I do this, as one of the last times we went swimming, his poo leaked through the disposable, but was caught by the washable.

I like to think that other parents take similar precautions as no one wants their child ingesting another child's poo or for the swimming pool to close be it needs to be cleaned. On a lighter side it will also save you alot of embarrassment.

I've only ever bought disposibles before on bogof cos we've only used them on hols.
We know want to make swimming a weekly thing, so I'm sure it'll work out cheaper to buy a re-usable, but what do you do if 'baby' (mines nearly 3, and no nearer out of nappies than a newborn:rolleyes: ) has a poo whilst swimming-do you have to cut -short your swimming session:confused:

It might be worth your while checking the child adult ratio as I know in my local pool for babies it's one to one so you would need another adult.

pdoff, if you want disposables it's worth trying Huggies - I found them so tight that they fit my little skinny baby no problem - she must have been about 10lb when we started.
